Silver says of his degree: "It has given me a lot of insights and perspectives on community and social living. I've gained a deep theoretical base which I will be able to apply in my professional practice." He did his first field placement this year, and says "We got to apply some of the knowledge we've gained in practice. It was great, because it is a support service for strengthening families and community, giving me first-hand experience of the area I want to work in."
